Description

Many young people struggle to make friends or navigate social situations because they misinterpret expressions, gestures, body language, or tone of voice. These role-play cards give them the opportunity to practise, reinforce, and build confidence in social communication.

Set 1: Facial Expressions & Body Language
Start with the basics. Practice emotions like happy, sad, angry, excited, and scared using facial expressions and whole-body posture. Scenarios progress to more complex movements, e.g., walking as if scared or hiding as if naughty. No sounds are used—perfect for focusing on visual cues.

Set 2: Social Situations
Build on the basics with real-life situations young people encounter at home or school. Themes include sharing, turn-taking, saying sorry, peer pressure, jealousy, and assertiveness. Example prompts: “Your best friend won’t talk to you. What do you say and do?” or “You are picked for the team but your friend isn’t. How do you react?”

Set 3: Social Situations for Teenagers
Designed for teens, these scenarios focus on more complex interactions including family issues, friendships, online & social media, life skills, peer pressure, and managing emotions. These role-plays support confident and thoughtful social responses in everyday situations.

A fun, practical, and flexible way to help young people practise social skills, build confidence, and better understand others.
