What’s Happening to me? (Girls)
This is a brand-new edition of the much-loved go-to guide for children learning about the facts of life, now with all-new artwork and updated content. It is designed to support young people as they begin their puberty journey, using clear, kind and age-appropriate language that feels honest without being overwhelming.
Aimed mainly at readers with female bodies, the book explores sex, gender identity and sexuality in an inclusive and respectful way. It gently explains the physical changes of puberty, including what periods are and how to manage them, while also supporting children through the emotional and mental shifts that come with growing older and becoming more independent.
The tone is friendly, reassuring and empowering, helping readers feel informed, confident and less alone as their bodies and feelings start to change. It is especially suited to children around 10 years and up who are just starting to notice these changes in themselves.
Based on the original bestselling title by Sue Meredith, this updated edition includes new writing and expert input from professional sex educators and gender consultants, ensuring the information is accurate, modern and supportive for today’s young people.
Feedback:
- “Wow!”
This is such a helpful book for all girls! It’s helpful because it doesn’t go into too much detail, isn’t rude or inappropriate as some puberty books can be. I borrowed it from the library and enjoyed reading this helpful guide. What more can I say, except, buy it for your children!
Moon Marker - “Best Book Ever”
I now know what to expect when I grow up and how to tackle periods and how buy a suitable bra. 10 out of 10.
ally-may - “Great help!”
This book was such a great help to me. I am growing up faster than my mates and I was worried about it. The book showed me that people grow up at different ages and I’m not worried anymore.
Alecis - “It really helps you in life”
The first time I got this in the car I was reading it on the way home. I couldn’t put it down me and my mum read it together. My favourite page is about feelings cause it helps you with parents and fancying other people and friends (who I fight with a lot).

Feedback:
- “Whats happening to me”
This book is fantastic. I got this for my son who was 10 at the time as my husband is in the military and very often away. I wanted something that he could refer to if he was too embarrassed to ask me and I didn’t want him to learn stuff from ‘playground’ talk. As a mum, I would highly reccommend this and am buying the girls version for my daughter.
G Fitzsimmons - “What is Happening to me review”
This book is great because I have got it! It has got very interesting facts about how to grow up on boys but at the back it has got a little bit on girls. I would recommend this book to people 10 or above because they wont understand what a condom is and what sex is! I really enjoy this book!
Tom - “Very nice book”
I love this book which I gave to my 11 year old son because he was evidently too shy to talk about these things.
