Sensational Kids is Recruiting Regional Fundraising Officers (3 Positions)

 

The Opportunity

As part of our ambitious growth strategy, Sensational Kids is making a significant investment in fundraising capacity to sustain and expand our services for the long term. We are recruiting three Regional Fundraising Officers to champion fundraising efforts in support of our regional child development centres.

  • Clonakilty, West Cork
  • Claremorris, Co. Mayo
  • Clones, Co. Monaghan

Reports to: Fundraising Manager
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Salary: €45,000 gross annual salary per annum

 

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for skilled fundraising officers to grow income, revenue and partnerships through a range of funding options, with a specific focus in a regional area, but also supporting the wider organisational strategy to develop income for capital, projects, and new services.

  • Proven experience in fundraising and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of children and families.
  • Knowledge of the local area and willingness to travel within the region.
  • Ability to work to six figure income targets.
  • Experience with corporate fundraising, grant proposals, or individual giving, would be beneficial.

Position In The Organisation

The Regional Fundraising Officers will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications, clinical teams, and leadership to support the growth of Sensational Kids’ income and impact at both regional and national level.

 

Main Purpose Of The Role

The Regional Fundraising Officers will play a key role in delivering and growing income for Sensational Kids through a balanced portfolio of community fundraising and corporate partnerships. In this role, you will proactively develop, manage, and steward relationships with community supporters, schools, local groups, and businesses, while contributing to national fundraising campaigns and wider organisational income goals. The role requires a highly organised, relationship-focused fundraiser who is comfortable working independently, building local networks, and contributing to a national fundraising strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

Community Fundraising

  • Develop and grow community fundraising activity across the region, including events, schools, clubs, and local groups.
  • Support the planning and delivery of regional and national fundraising events, ensuring excellent supporter experience and stewardship.
  • Build strong relationships with community supporters, volunteers, schools, and local organisations.
  • Encourage repeat participation and long-term engagement through positive supporter journeys.

Corporate Fundraising

  • Research, identify, and develop a quality pipeline of corporate prospects at regional level.
  • Secure and manage corporate partnerships, including one-off donations, event sponsorship, and longer-term relationships.
  • Develop compelling corporate proposals and impact reports tailored to individual partners.
  • Provide high-quality account management and stewardship to existing corporate supporters.
  • Support the delivery of Charity of the Year and other key corporate partnerships in collaboration with the Fundraising Manager.

General Fundraising & Collaboration

  • Engage supporters and partners in the wider work and impact of Sensational Kids.
  • Collaborate as a team to support other areas of fundraising as required, including a focus on building strong, long‑term relationships with funders and submitting high‑quality, tailored grant applications to trusts and foundations that support our thematic focus areas and beneficiary groups, fund multi‑year or repeat grants, and offer core, unrestricted, or capacity‑building funding.
  • Work with the team to develop and implement Individual Giving Strategies to grow the organisation’s regular giving program, ensuring donor retention and long-term sustainability.
  • Use CRM systems to accurately record fundraising activity, manage pipelines, and report on progress.
  • Deliver agreed income and activity targets and contribute to the continuous development of fundraising strategy.
  • Support the wider organisational strategy to develop income for capital, projects, and new services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Sensational Kids to identify opportunities and share best practice.

 

Person Specification

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in fundraising, relationship management, or marketing within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
  • Demonstrable experience of community fundraising, including events, local initiatives, or supporter engagement.
  • Experience of developing and managing corporate fundraising relationships.
  • Proven ability to meet income and activity targets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence presenting to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to write compelling funding proposals and clear, engaging reports.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
  • High standard of supporter care and stewardship.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and show initiative.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • You are highly adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth charity environment, remaining resourceful and solution-oriented when resources are stretched.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration tools and are comfortable with, or can quickly learn and adapt to, any other systems in use in the organisation.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Experience using CRM systems to support fundraising activity.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practice, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting national fundraising campaigns.
