Sensational Kids is Recruiting a Part-Time Communications & Marketing Executive
The Opportunity
Sensational Kids is seeking a proactive and creative part-time Communications & Marketing Executive to strengthen our communications, marketing and fundraising efforts. This role will lead the delivery of our annual communications plan, manage media engagement, and support campaigns that raise awareness and generate income. You will create compelling content, manage digital channels, and collaborate across teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand integrity.
Location: Remote working, ideally with availability to attend meetings onsite in Kildare Town as required.
Reports To: Communications Manager
Employment Type: Permanent Part-time (21 hours per week, 3 days)
Salary: €27,000

The Sensational Kids Shop is your one-stop destination for sensory toys, educational resources, and therapy tools designed to support children’s learning and development. From sensory integration products to fine motor skill activities, our carefully curated range helps parents, teachers, and therapists create engaging, inclusive environments for children of all abilities. Every purchase from our shop directly supports our mission as a not-for-profit organisation, funding affordable therapy services for children across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Campaign Support
- Develop and implement communication strategies for fundraising campaigns and events.
- Create engaging donor communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, and impact stories.
- Assist with the branding, design and presentation of sponsorship and funding proposals and funder reports.
- Support integrated campaigns for awareness days and special events.
Digital & Social Media
- Manage day-to-day social media activity across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
- Produce creative content including videos, graphics, and posts to drive engagement.
- Monitor analytics and optimise performance.
- Maintain and update website content.
- Updating content on the website and sending email communications (via mailchimp and constant contact)
Media, Marketing & Brand Management
- Draft press releases, blogs, and promotional materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and influencers.
- Ensure brand consistency across all communications.
- Internal Communications & Event Support
- Share organisational updates and success stories internally.
- Provide communications support for events and community initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in communications/marketing (charity or social enterprise experience desirable).
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
- Strong knowledge of social media and digital marketing tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail.
- You are highly adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth charity environment, remaining resourceful and solution-oriented when resources are stretched.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration tools and are comfortable with, or can quickly learn and adapt to, any other systems in use in the organisation.
