As part of our ambitious growth strategy, Sensational Kids is strengthening our national fundraising capacity to sustain and expand services for children with additional needs across Ireland.

We are recruiting a National Community Fundraising Executive to lead the development, growth, and delivery of our community fundraising and flagship events strategy nationwide. This is a pivotal role within a growing fundraising team. The successful candidate will drive income growth through national campaigns, third-party events, supporter-led initiatives, and structured community engagement, ensuring that Sensational Kids builds a sustainable, scalable community fundraising model for the future.

 

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced and motivated community fundraising executive to lead and grow Sensational Kids’ national community and events income. This role requires a highly organised, commercially aware and relationship-focused individual who can scale campaigns while delivering excellent supporter care.

  • Proven experience in community and/or events fundraising.
  • Strong experience delivering campaigns against income targets.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, strategic, and comfortable working independently.
  • Experience managing national campaigns or large-scale events.
  • Ability to work to income targets.
  • Experience using digital fundraising platforms and CRM systems.
  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of children and families.

Position In the Organisation

The National Community Fundraising Executive will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications, clinical teams, and leadership to support the growth of Sensational Kids’ income and impact at both regional and national level.

 

Main Purpose of the Role

The National Community Fundraising Executive will lead and grow Sensational Kids’ community and events fundraising portfolio nationwide. In this role, you will proactively design, manage and scale a balanced portfolio of flagship campaigns, third-party events, and community fundraising initiatives. You will build strong supporter journeys, maximise engagement and retention, and ensure delivery of ambitious income targets. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance long-term planning with hands-on campaign execution, ensuring strong ROI and sustainable income growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

Community & Events Strategy
• Develop and implement a national community and events fundraising strategy aligned with organisational income targets.
• Build and manage a balanced annual calendar of campaigns and events.
• Identify opportunities to scale successful initiatives nationally.
• Monitor ROI and refine delivery models to maximise income growth.

Events & Campaign Delivery
• Lead planning and execution of flagship fundraising campaigns.
• Support and steward third-party events and supporter-led initiatives.
• Ensure events are financially viable, well managed, and deliver excellent supporter experiences.
• Collaborate with Communications to maximise PR and digital reach.

Supporter Engagement & Stewardship
• Develop structured supporter journeys to maximise retention and repeat participation.
• Provide high-quality supporter care and recognition.
• Build strong relationships with schools, clubs, gyms, corporates, and community groups nationwide.
• Encourage long-term advocacy and engagement.

General Fundraising & Collaboration
• Collaborate with the wider fundraising team to support corporate fundraising, grants and individual giving strategies where appropriate.
• Use CRM systems to accurately record fundraising activity, manage pipelines and report on progress.
• Deliver agreed income and activity targets.
• Support the wider organisational strategy to develop income for capital projects, new services and long-term growth.

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in community or events fundraising.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering against income targets.
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking ability.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative.
  • Experience using CRM systems and digital fundraising tools.
  • Financial literacy with ability to manage campaign budgets.
  • Full drivers licence access to a car, and willingness to travel nationally.
  • Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience scaling peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting national fundraising strategies.
  • Marketing or fundraising qualification/experience.
