This is a voluntary, unremunerated (not paid) post based in Ireland
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our Board as a voluntary member. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in charity and social enterprise funding and fundraising, who can help guide our organization toward sustainable growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic advice and oversight on fundraising plans, including donor engagement, and income diversification.
- Support the development of social enterprise models and innovative funding streams to strengthen financial resilience.
- Contribute to governance and decision-making, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Act as an ambassador for the organization, leveraging networks to build partnerships and secure funding opportunities.
- Offer guidance on capital fundraising projects (desirable), including major gifts, campaigns, and infrastructure development.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in fundraising within the charity and/or social enterprise sector.
- Knowledge of funding mechanisms, including grants, sponsorships, and social investment.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills with donors, corporates, and stakeholders.
- Understanding of governance and the responsibilities of a non-executive board member.
Desirable:
- Experience in capital fundraising for large-scale projects or infrastructure development.

Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per month
Attend scheduled Board meetings (typically monthly held online)
Prepare for meetings by reviewing papers and reports.
Actively engage in fundraising advocacy outside of meetings.
Participate in ad-hoc discussions and events as required.

Voluntary appointment for a 3 year fixed term
Reporting:
Reports to the Chair of the Board
