Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical / Educational Psychologist to join our team at Sensational Kids Child Development Centre in Kildare. The Clinical Psychologist will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions, and therapeutic support to children and adolescents with a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioural functioning of children and adolescents.
  2. Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilising evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  3. Collaborate closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and educational psychologists, to ensure integrated and holistic care for clients.
  4. Offer consultation and support to parents, caregivers, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate understanding of developmental and psychological issues and to promote effective strategies for support.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant records in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
  6. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and contribute to the ongoing development of services at Sensational Kids.
  7. Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in clinical psychology and child development to inform and enhance clinical practice.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • The suitable candidate will require a doctorate or masters in educational psychology or a doctorate in clinical psychology or a doctorate in counselling psychology and must be registered with the psi as a psychologist.
  • Registration as a Clinical / Educational Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant professional body.
  • Minimum of [2] years of post-qualification experience in clinical practice, preferably working with children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting psychological assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations for a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuing education in the field of clinical educational psychology and child development.
