During her career to date she has successfully created, advised, managed, built and sold her own business and those of many clients.

While managing her first major business, the recruitment agency Celtic Careers, Paula was honoured to be awarded with the National Network Ireland Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007.  In 2015 she became the first woman to achieve this prestigious Award for the second time, for her work with her leading-edge, lean-focused company, Finance Services.

Paula is a graduate of University of Ulster (Honours Degree in Business – specialising in finance), and of Dublin City University (MBA). Constantly up-skilling, Paula is currently participating on the Institute of Directors Chartered Director Programme

Paula’s first senior management role was with SMC Pneumatics – a Japanese global PLC, where she held the post of Finance Manager for nine years and was integral to several complex, high profile international projects, in additional to being responsible for Finance, IT, HR and Admin functions in Ireland.

In 1999, together with her business partner, Paula established Celtic Careers, which serviced the permanent and temporary recruitment needs of many blue chip multinationals and SME clients. The company recorded strong growth and financial turnover, operating from two offices with almost 40 in-house staff. After close to a decade at the helm, Paula took the opportunity to sell her shares in Celtic Careers in 2008 – at the peak of its success – in order to explore other options.

In direct response to the prevailing recessionary environment, Paula launched Finance Services in 2009 with the aim of promoting a lean business model and delivering tangible and essential financial services to a broad client base. Paula’s particular and personal interest in Irish indigenous business drove the direction of the Finance Services, which offers specific expertise in accounting, financial control, payroll and income tax. Finance Services has been acknowledged as providing a compelling and affordable model to businesses of all dimensions operating in a challenging economic setting.  The company has recorded annual double-digit growth since its inception.

Though she maintains a tenacious focus on the bottom line, Paula is fun and energetic and has a broad range of interests. She has been a member of several industry groups including the National Recruitment Federation and the Kildare Business Network (of which she was President in 2006) and was also a committee member of King’s Hospital Parents Association.

Paula is as passionate about client’s businesses as she is about her own, and clients have come to depend on her as a champion and to rely on her highly regarded business acumen.
