Laoise is a recent addition to our therapy team at Sensational Kids, Claremorris. Laoise recently graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) following a four-year course in Occupational Therapy. Laoise has clinical experience working in Early Intervention and School Age Services, as well as Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). These placements inspired Laoise to pursue a career in paediatric occupational therapy. Working with young people and their families is one of Laoise’s biggest passions. Laoise’s main priorities at Sensational Kids are building strong therapeutic relationships, work on client-centred occupational goals, and help to enhance the quality of life of each client through hands-on, evidence-based practice.
On a personal level, Laoise is a Roscommon native with many interests and hobbies which she incorporates into her interventions. She loves music, dance, cooking and baking. Additionally, she values time spent with family and friends. Laoise also enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures, having been to countries such as the USA, Canada, Finland, and Italy.
Laoise is motivated to continue her professional development as a paediatric occupational therapist and excited to engage in further training alongside her working role here at Sensational Kids.
