Educational Psychologist Breda Hand has sixteen years’ experience as an educational psychologist with The National Educational Psychology Service (NEPS) from 2002 – 2018. Breda has worked with children from Junior Infants to Leaving Certificate who presented with the full spectrum of special educational needs. Breda has extensive experience dealing with parents and with teachers and principals of both primary and post-primary schools and have worked with whole-school staffs on a range of initiatives. In addition Breda worked with the Hibernia College since 2016 as a Research Supervision/Lecturer in psychology (part-time)


Continuous Professional Development

Breda Hand has also enagaged with a range of CPD programmes on relevant topics including DCD (Dyspraxia); Autism; Critical Incidents; Effective interventions for early readers; Effective interventions for struggling readers; Incredible Years; Friends for Life; Continuum of Support; Behavioural, Emotional & Social Difficulties – Continuum of Support; Transitions from primary-post-primary; Special Schools. Breda has gained further post graduate qualifications in separation and loss (Hospice Foundation), mindfulness and in ICT (the  use of laptops / ipads /software in educational settings).
