Ann Marie Sweeney joined the Senior Management Team at Sensational Kids in October 2022 to lead on business development, marketing and communications.

Ann Marie is an innovative and strategic leader with almost twenty years’ experience in fundraising, marketing and communications in not-for-profit and corporate sectors. Ann Marie has held senior management positions with Special Olympics Ireland and Trócaire, where she led fundraising and marketing teams to deliver multi-million euro revenue to support programmes that greatly enhance the lives of children and adults in Ireland and the developing world.

During her five years as Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Special Olympics Ireland, Ann Marie worked to fund sport, health and leadership programmes for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in communities across Ireland.

Ann Marie is passionate about partnerships and has worked with organisations including Eir, Kerry Group, Dell, Microsoft, Bank of America, Gala Retail, Eason, An Post and Rethink Ireland to create positive social change in Ireland and overseas through fundraising, sponsorship and volunteering opportunities.

Ann Marie was awarded Ireland’s Professional Fundraiser of the Year by Fundraising Ireland in 2016. She is an honours graduate of The Smurfit Graduate School of Business and Queen’s University Belfast. Ann Marie has recently completed a Diploma in Leadership and Executive Coaching at Kingstown College, Dublin.
