Some children use excessive pressure and press very hard on their pencils when writing and drawing. This can cause their muscles to tire more quickly and can result in pain in their hands and fingers.
Therapists often use these pencils to help children to grade the amount of pressure that they are using when writing and drawing.
It provides immediate feedback and thus creates an awareness of when they are pressing too hard and reminds them to press a little more gently.
