Sensational Kids is recruiting a Financial Controller to work from our HQ in Kildare Town.

Sensational Kids is Ireland’s premier national clinic for children with neurodevelopmental related needs with Child Development Centres located in every province in Ireland in Kildare, Mayo, Monaghan, and West Cork, providing a range of therapeutic supports for children of all abilities.  In addition, Sensational Kids runs a child development & learning store to help increase traded income as well as raising funds from more traditional fundraising methods.  Sensational Kids has charitable status and is governed by a voluntary board of directors.



  • Production of monthly management accounts and utilizing the accounts software to the fullest of its capacity to provide key insights to the Board.
  • Attend board meetings to present these findings.
  • Oversee debtors, creditors, payroll, as well as stock management.
  • Additional duties include budgeting and forecasting.
  • Management of cash flow
  • Compliance with Taxation, Company Secretarial, Funding and other regulatory requirements.
  • To manage and develop best practice accounting policies and internal financial controls and to ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards.
  • You will be given the opportunity to add commercial elements to the role and assist with strategy on how to progress the business.
  • Reporting to Funders through preparation of financial returns and ad hoc financial reports as required; preparation of funding proposals and submissions; liaising with Funders and preparing information as required.
  • To liaise with external advisers, bankers, insurance companies, funders and financial institutions.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders in the business.



  • You must be a fully qualified accountant.
  • Have strong people management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and KPIs are required for this role.
  • 5 years of experience in a Financial Controller or similar role.
  • Experience in preparing statutory audit files for external audit compliance.
  • A working knowledge of MS Office and accounts packages.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in Charity’s SORP  is considered an advantage for this role.



This is a full-time-time, office based post working five days per week (35 hours) with flexible working hours options to choose your own hours.
