E-Commerce Manager

We are recruiting an E-Commerce Manager to grow and manage our e-commerce store, which is an exciting and innovative social enterprise with amazing potential for growth. As Ecommerce Manager, you will take responsibility for designing and implementing an ecommerce strategy that facilitates growth, and driving the sales performance of our e-commerce platform, focusing on our store’s unique position as a social enterprise providing vital supports for children.

You will be responsible for managing the development and maintenance of our online store and are also tasked with coming up with new marketing strategies based on the review of business analytics.

It requires a very ‘hands-on’ role in implementing that strategy, from digital marketing, website content, right the way through to analysing data and the effectiveness of campaigns.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexible working arrangements (35 hours per week over 5 days).

Sensational Kids is an award-winning social enterprise, that has already changed the lives of over 9,000 children, saving their families over €2 million in therapy fees. We provide vital front-line therapeutic supports, such as speech & language and occupational therapy, for children with additional needs, ensuring that these children in need have access to vital supports when and where they need them.

Fundraising and earned income from Sensational Kids’ Child Development & Learning Store and training workshops help to subsidise our therapy services, so that we can bridge the gap between public and private therapy services, providing a practical, accessible, and affordable service for those in need.

Established in 2007, Sensational Kids operates as a child development centre, providing three key offerings for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities


Collective Management Responsibilities

  • Together with the management team at Sensational Kids, you will have a collective responsibility to grow and scale the impact of Sensational Kids to meet our key objectives of increasing the number of children supported by Sensational Kids and increasing financial sustainability.


Ecommerce Strategy

  • Develop and implement an ecommerce strategy in order to improve website performance and grow online sales
  • Analyse trends and analyse the effectiveness of promotional campaigns
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to the CEO and Management Team
  • Have a good understanding of the competitive market and carry out regular SWOT analysis
  • Inform leadership teams on current market trends and conditions
  • Reporting on campaign performance, suggesting adjustments to improve profitability and increase sales


Web Development

  • Oversee the look, feel and design of our website, working closely with any web design agencies and in-house marketing team to get the right interface and structure which will suit the customer journey best.
  • The aim is to make the online ecommerce system easy to use, speedy and secure. This can mean where to place the call of action to purchase an item to how the listings are shown and categorised.
  • Enhance the website with additional content such as product videos, social media integration and anything that can further improve the user experience.



Ecommerce Management

  • Driving the sales performance of the e-commerce platform
  • Ensure that the online store is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and furnished with accurate, up-to-date content
  • Inspect landing pages, product information, checkout options, and all other pertinent website-related systems to ensure their visual appeal, accuracy, and ease of use
  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager, manage and execute digital promotional campaigns
  • Provide insights on customer shopping trends to support assortment selection and identify assortment gaps
  • Providing analysis and reporting on metrics such as weekly/monthly sales by department, new product sell-through and offer code performance
  • Assisting with decisions about promotions such as discounted offers and affordable bulk packages
  • Ensuring that payment options and promotional tabs are configured correctly
  • Collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to ensure the rollout of website changes
  • Inspecting and uploading customers’ product reviews.
  • Monitoring website traffic and customer reviews to gauge responses to site updates
  • Research market in order to discover new trends and technologies in order to improve website performance
  • Analyse various data in order to deliver data driven strategies in order to deliver top performance and achieve kpis
  • Oversee or directly manage digital marketing channels across PPC, SEO, Display, affiliates, email marketing and social media
  • Improve the website’s rankings, drive traffic, and increase awareness in search engines by implementing SEO strategies
  • Develop content calendar and oversee website uploads and landing pages development
  • Work closely with the Head of Fundraising & Communications to support digital fundraising campaigns
  • Work closely with our team on email campaigns and writing blogs to boost SEO efforts
  • You’ll be aware of the latest advancements with social media, email, PPC, and e-commerce WordPress websites, from a channel perspective. Subsequently, you can utilise them to deliver creative content and strategic targeting that will lead to direct sales. You’ll know how to set up and develop keyword strategies and implement them via your overall SEO strategy and Google Ads campaigns
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with digital media marketing for services, products, events and occasional job opportunities
  • Ensure our content connects to our Brand purpose. Encourage community participation, look at ways we can drive our alignment with local communities
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that all external activity is communicated internally
  • Collaborate with our diverse teams across the business to better understand our product and our culture, in particular with the clinical team to demonstrate the educational and developmental aspects of the resources we stock.
  • Like all staff, you will always act as an ambassador for Sensational Kids.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies and Experience


  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Bachelors’ degree in Digital Marketing/Marketing or related field.
  • Knowledge of implementing digital marketing concepts such as PPC, SEO, social media, display and affiliate channels.
  • Confidence developing and implementing eCommerce-focused digital marketing strategies
  • Excellent understanding of web design, customer flow and web analysis
  • Confidence in traffic analysis, reporting tools and optimisation
  • Knowledge of attribution modelling, website speed optimisation, A/B testing, conversion management, sales journey optimisation, traffic analysis and reporting tools
  • Hands-on experience in managing and maintaining e-Commerce websites/portals
  • Knowledgeable about consumer preferences, particularly as these relate to e-commerce
  • Unrivalled organizational, teamwork, and quality assurance skills
  • Phenomenal market research skills
  • Superb data analysis and report writing abilities
  • A stickler for precision, creativity, and excellence
  • Eager about the role of technology in promoting business
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint
  • Proficiency in graphic design platforms such as Canva and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
  • Proficiency in website updates on a WooCommerce website
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social media including proficiency in using digital media platforms to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Linkedin, TikTok and Google Business
  • You’ll be comfortable using Google Analytics, social media insights and email data to produce reports and tweak and optimise your campaigns
  • Experience in using paid social media advertising
  • Demonstrated track record of business growth, with proven experience in online retail/ecommerce
  • Previous role on a small management team in a social enterprise, an entrepreneurial SME or start-up
  • You’ll be happy to work on your own initiative and take full responsibility for all aspects of ecommerce management and digital marketing for our ecommerce platform
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • You’ll need excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with a range of levels and teams
  • A creative mind and a head for business are essential
  • You’ll have excellent data analytics skills
  • Ability to work independently, learn new skills and apply them within a workplace

Sensational Kids has four locations around Ireland with our HQ in Kildare Town so you could be located anywhere in Ireland in the vicinity of any of our four locations.  Flexible working arrangements are available including working from home.




  • Competitive Salary of €40-€45k per annum
