COURSE OVERVIEW
This 2-day workshop provides a practical opportunity for participants to learn and interact with author and occupational therapist Mary Kawar in facilitating optimum performance in children with movement and vision issues. Many children have unidentified visual, vestibular and auditory processing challenges which interfere with the development of physical, emotional and cognitive skills including receptive and expressive language, eye hand co-ordination, reading, writing, social engagement, attention and behavior. Participants will develop a broader net for capturing the subtleties of visual-vestibular behavior by gaining insight into underlying causes.

Visual Processing
We all see the world the same - or do we?
Presented by: Ian Jordan When: Saturday 23rd November, 2013 1pm - 5pm Where: Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport, Co. Dublin (with free shuttle bus between Dublin Airport and the hotel)
Vision is learned, and although we all have the same basic visual system, we do not have the same experiences and therefore everyone's visual processing is different.
The image we see may be interpreted in many ways, sometimes in ways that may be inaccurate or disturbing. It may be affected or affect other sensory systems, and from this it may be difficult to integrate what we see with our other senses. Sometimes coping with this can be extremely unpleasant, and may lead to severe anxiety and social and communication problems.
